The place was very clean and smelled better than my local CVS. I've looked for a selection like this for over ten years across eight states and this respectable store actually has the best selection for Caribbean, Dominican, and Puerto Rican staples that I've found since NYC. “ I love this place! I have been going for years but in such a rush to eat the food I never get a picture. There's not a bad dish here at all and for those who want to explore it's a great place but all the flavors make the difference. What's missing in this photo is the Chicharones that they fry fresh! I ate them with the green sauce and it's aswesome. They are also a grocery store and bakery so go try them out. I never leave just eating I leave with a little of everything. Trust me you won't regret the experience. They're every helpful and nice. The market is small and gives off a family vibe. ”

“ This market also has a cafeteria and serves excellent tacos, burritos, tortas, and quesidillas. There are no better tacos anywhere around. It is a joy to eat here. Their salsa bar has two green sauces, red sauce, pickled carrots and onions, as well as fresh cilantro and chopped onion. I have tried every taco place in town and this is the very best. They really do a good job. Plus it's economical. I get happy just thinking about this wonderful place. The market has a great selection of produce, frozen foods, and a butcher shop too. ”

“ This review is based on many visits and I rarely give a five star rating. This is not a restaurant, per se, but a collection of markets under one roof. There is a common cash register for all purchases. The restaurant portion is in one back corner and consists of a few tables, but I always take out my order. Also in the market is a butcher shop (which does excellent pork rinds), a grocery store, and a bakery. Their dairy section contains a great selection of various Latin American creams. Now, on to the restaurant. Judging if this is the best Mexican restaurant in the area is difficult. It is difficult because it is not like other Mexican restaurants. Other restaurants in the area tend to have the same food. They have some base meats, stuff them in different dough's, combine them and call them different names. All the sauces appear to come out of a jar or bottle. NOT at Mercados Maria. This is authentic Mexican. While I am not Mexican, I can tell the difference. They butcher their own meats right there. Everything is prepared apparently from scratch and slow simmered. They offer excellent soups as well. The menu varies. The place is frequented by native Mexicans. Spanish is the language of choice. If you know a few words or phrases, it brings extra smiles. You may not buy beer from the case in the store and consume it with your meal. The decor is non existent. In fact, if you pick the wrong seat, you will face a display of cleaning supplies being sold. Great food. Take it home. Stop at the bakery and get some of their rolls and sweet bakery stuff for desert as well. ”
